On this exciting food and wine experience, you’ll visit one of the most beautiful rural areas of the Basque Country. First, we you’ll stroll through the charming streets of a medieval coastal village and stop at a canning company to learn about fish preservation. Naiara, your local Sherpa, will share fascinating stories about Basque culinary history and answer any questions you may have about the anchovy and bonito (tuna) canning process. Next, it’s time to visit a family-run winery in the hills, known for its sparkling white wine txacoli. After learning about the production process, you’ll enjoy a tasting of some of their best vintages. Naiara went with journalism as her chosen career, but also used her love of all things culinary when she landed a job with a food PR agency in London. Naiara quickly learned the major role that Spain plays in the food and wine business, which is why she decided to return to her native San Sebastian to lead guests on wonderful food and wine tours in the city.
