On the wine and cheese experience, you’ll head out of the city to the peaceful Basque countryside to discover where many of the region’s most famous products are grown, raised or made. Along the way you will meet local producers and food artisans and learn from them about the rich culinary traditions of Basque Country. First, you’ll visit a cheese factory and witness the elaboration of Idiazabal cheese from fresh sheep milk. After indulging in a wonderful cheese and wine tasting, the next stop is Tolosa village, where you’ll visit the local market, famous for selling high quality products. Finally, it is time to enjoy an authentic T-bone steak (chuletón) meal at one of the area’s best restaurants. Naiara, your local Sherpa, will share with you some fascinating stories of Basque culture and answer any questions you may have.

Naiara went with journalism as her chosen career, but also used her love of all things culinary when she landed a job with a food PR agency in London. Naiara quickly learned the major role that Spain plays in the food and wine business, which is why she decided to return to her native San Sebastian to lead guests on wonderful food and wine tours in the city.
