Discover the secrets behind one of Spain’s most famous delicacies
This day-long culinary excursion will bring you to a pig farm in the heart of Southern Spain’s Natural Park of Aracena, where you will experience firsthand all the work that goes into producing this gourmet delicacy.
Witness the artisan process and indulge in a sumptuous tasting at one of the most traditional production farms of the country. You will even have the chance to meet the team in charge of the farm, who will give you tips on how to distinguish the unique flavor, scent and texture of authentic jamón ibérico. After the tasting you will visit the charming village of Aracena, famous for its beautiful architecture and limestone caves, where is located La Gruta de las Maravillas, known as one of the best-preserved caves in all of Europe. In Aracena, you will also have lunch in a local tavern. Here, you will be served with delicious Iberian ham and other pork specialties, local cheeses, and other fresh and seasonal dishes followed by a dessert.
For travelers seeking to take a break from sight-seeing in Sevilla, this is an exciting adventure which offers a closer look at the region’s most beloved gourmet specialty.

Meet Paco, Your Native Sherpa
Paco is a Seville native, and as a typical southern Spaniard, he knows how to celebrate every new day and show others the famous hospitality of Andalusia. Paco left his native city to gain an international gastronomic experience while living and working in different cities around Europe. He returned to his hometown passionate about the wine and food traditions determined to pursue the art of “tapas”. Paco will give you an inside look at the ancient wine and culinary traditions of historical Seville through an authentic, local experience you won’t find anywhere else.
My wife and I together with our two children (twins aged 5) had an incredible experience on the Foodie & Tours Iberian Pig Farm guided day trip. Our guide was Paco, a local from Seville, a great guy and very accomodating for whatever we needed.
Everything was catered for from start to finish. Pick up from the door of our Seville apartment, drive to Huelva, guided tour of the pig farm (really up close and personal – you can give the pigs a pat on the bottom, just make sure that they don’t nip at your feet!) and processing factory full ham tasting with wines, lunch in Aracena (excellent by the way – stuffed piquillo peppers and “press” pork loin were my favourites), tour of the caves in Aracena and drive back to our apartment.
Nothing was rushed – in fact, in our experience we went well past the specified finish time. Kids loved it and we did too.
A really special experience and highly recommended for anyone that loves their Jamon or just wants a unique day trip experience while staying in Seville.
