Tour Details

Travel back in time while enjoying Valencia typical flavors

You’ll begin the tour in the heart of the ancient city between the two remaining medieval gates of Valencia. The city formerly had 12 gates, but only a few remain, still rich with interesting secrets. Meet with your local Sherpas at Plaça dels Furs (Charters Square) and take a look inside the Torres de Serranos, which was used to be one of the main gates into Valencia during the 14th century. After admiring the ancient Gothic styled gate, you’ll walk down Carrer de Serranos and stop to taste a few drinks in an oenotheque. Here, you’ll taste a local and vintage Bobal red wine as well as a regional liquor called Mistela. Each drink will be paired with a tapa to complement the aromas and flavors of the drinks.

Next stop is Palau de Generalitat, another gothic style building from the 14th century, used now as a regional Governmental office. The building is located along Carrer de Cavallers which is a majestic street that used to house King James 1st knights!

Afterwards, you’ll stop at a bodega to have a glass of Agua de Valencia with a traditional Valencian appetizer. Agua de Valencia is a traditional drink of the region that uses one of the main agricultural crops from the area – oranges! The tour will finish when arriving to Torres de Quart, where you’ll discover some of the darkest Medieval Secrets of Valencia!
